Policy work and consulting
My current focus in policy work is on the financial system's
role in economic adaptation to climate change and climate
policy. I work with government agencies, but also with private
institutions, in order to explore policy paths, highlighting
financial risks, but also opportunities for financial
engineering. This typically is a social learning process involving different types of expertise and data. In this process, I often collaborate with other researchers from the ISQD group, using our joint expertise concerning financial architecture, risk management, valuation, and business analytics.
An example for a recent policy proposal is a paper (in German) addressing the issue of mobilizing investments for reducing the carbon emissions of residential real estate in Germany: EGM-Kapital.
