Extraction and Visualisation of Wikipedia Data on World Literature

The idea of this project is to have a look at the representation of World Literature (authors, works) in different Wikipedias. It will be developed in close collaboration with the Göttingen Centre for Digital Humanities (GCDH) and has mainly two aspects:

1. information retrieval and storage (scripting language and database of your choice)
2. presentation of live data on a website,‬including simple visualisations (bar diagrams,‭heat maps,‬etc.).‭ ‬

The kind of queries and data formats will be negotiated with Frank Fischer, coordinator at the GCDH (). It is our goal to work closely together on the project. Supervisors of the project will be Prof. Robert Jäschke and Prof. Gerhard Lauer.
