linguist / educator

Short CV

I am doing a PhD with Natalia Gagarina, Artemis Alexiadou and Christoph Schroeder at Leibniz-Center General Linguistics (ZAS) in Berlin. My research focuses on heritage languages, multilingualism, language acquisition, and various experimental methods. Check out my academic website here. My main interests, broadly, are psycholinguistics, language acquisition, heritage languages, syntax, morphology and their interfaces with semantics, and language teaching. Additionally, I work on projects about the replication crisis in linguistics and the metascience of bilingualism research.

I am also on Twitter / X and the OSF. And here's my Google Scholar site.

What’s new?

Find me live at euroSLA 32 where I'll present with our BA student Mariya Burbelko on Topic-drop in German-speaking bilinguals with Greek, Russian, and Turkish as a heritage language, and also at RUEG 2023 where I will present with Clara Fridman on "Sentiments towards heritage languages".

Frederic Blum, Ivona Ilić and I did a podcast (called InterFacing Language) about syntax, semantics and other linguistic topics. Each episode, we interview a different linguist about their research and why it matters. Listen to all episodes of InterFacing Language here. I've also been interviewed by a podcast of the Leibniz-association's "Date a Scientist" and spoke about multilingual and second language acquisition there. Check it out here. Stay tuned.
