A view to the future

Planned are a new eastern line to the district Heepen, a new southern line from Brackwede to Ummeln and several track extensions on the existing lines. The Stieghorst line still operates on the old tramway between the stations Luther-Kirche and Rathaus, maybe there will be money for the next metro part—who knows.
The last part of the regional railway track “Haller Willem” to the neighbouring City of Osnabrück will be reactivated soon.
The Nordwestbahn will operate at least an hourly service to Osnabrück Central Station.

More detailed history about the City of Bielefeld offers the History Museum of Bielefeld.
