My car is my castle


In the 1960s, some strange people got the glorious idea to build some motorways. Oh yes, and one part of the A47 was really built, right through the nicest part of the city, which had survived the war without damage. It began in the mid-70s with the demolition of several nice mansions in the western city. The motorway started in the outskirts and ended—what did you expect? Right. In the city centre. How smart. A long and expensive tunnel was built twenty years later to get the traffic out of there, it is the first part of a second motorway, the A35, which is to be built in the future...
