Hi.net

Hi! hope you all had nice holidays and didn't spend too much time in front of your computer or TV. For the beginning of the new academic year I have selected some websites designed to make you think and have fun.

Our first stop, The Science Museum of Minnesota will help you discover the world of science. I'm convinced that you'll enjoy visiting the whirligig farm with its machines that capture the wind, or investigating ancient mysteries with archaeologists, or learning about the secret life of worms ... It would take too much space to tell you all about what you can find there, but don't worry, you won't get bored.

Those who are interested in history and legends will already know about King Arthur. By the 12th century, he had become a national hero to the English and his name is linked with the Holy Grail and Merlin the magician. Arthur and Arthurian legend is a site dedicated to this legendary figure and his time.

illu.gif (1899 Byte)illusion.gif (1899 Byte) Illusions Works is probably the most comprehensive collection of optical and sensory illusions on the internet. Hours and hours of astonishment await you with innumerable interactive demonstrations, reliable scientific explanations, illusion artwork, 3D graphics ... and much more. You can choose between two levels: the introductory, with explanations that are easily understood, and advanced level, with the same material but much more rigorous explanations for students or researchers.

Andy Warhol is one of this century's most famous post-war artists. The Andy Warhol Museum is dedicated to this leading light of Pop Art. The quantity of information about him and his eclecticism makes it a fascinating site, it's just a pity that the frames are so small.
