Rubik's Cube and More

Rubik's Type Puzzles

Moving without Gaps

Not all of these are sliding puzzles, which is why I named this category "Moving...". Again on TwistyPuzzles some of these puzzles will be found under the category Moving Beads/Balls/Marbles.

Rubik's Fifteen
Rubik's Fifteen [eBay; Christmas present 2006]
Rubik's Fifteen can be solved on both sides, which are seperate puzzles. On one side the Roman numerals have to be put in order. On the other side one can make a magic square.

Flip-Side
Flip-Side by Think Fun [birthday present 2007]
The object is to line up the numbers in sequential order by sliding the tiles and flipping the cylinder to reverse the numbers on top and bottom.

Hungarian Rings
Hungarian Rings [eBay]
Magic 8 [exchanged, April 2008]
The Magic 8 used to be a promotional item by a German bank, which might be the reason for it being blue.

Rotos
Rotos [Christmas present 2006; flea market, 2 €, 2007]
This is a very special puzzle. It was made in GDR and is quite rare. I actually have two of them, one even in its original box. They were given to me for Christmas after having been searched for in various basements.
Rotos has two sides: One side with colored, one with numbered spots. The side with the numbered ones is more difficult to solve. Once it is solved, the colored side is solved as well, but not the other way around.

Nintendo Ten Billion Barrel
Nintendo Ten Billion Barrel or Nintendo Tumbler Puzzle [present, with original packaging; flea markte, 0,50 €]
The Ten Billion Barrel was one of the first puzzles I had wanted to add to my collection. So I bid for it at eBay's and was sent the Babylon Tower instead. I later found the Ten Billion Barrel in a box full of toys at my grandparent's. By now I have two of them.
By the way: The Nintendo Ten Billion Barrel was invented by the same man as the Game Boy.

Hungarian Globe
Hungarian Globe [flea market, 1,50 €, in it's original box, May 2007]
This globe is a sliding piece puzzle. It has three intersecting rings of all together 30 square tin-metall tiles. A different version of this puzzle with four quaters in different colors is called Equator.

Shells
Shells, Japanese Version [Christmas present 2007]
Shells is actually by Rubik's, but this seems to be a knock off.
Four wheels contain balls of four different colors which are to be sorted accordingly by turning the wheels. Shells has three difficulties which can be changed by pressing the buttons - wheels will be turned simultaneously, which makes the puzzle harder. Careful! Once the buttons are pushed they can't be undone.
