Put-Together and Take-Apart Puzzles

Disentanglement

These are Wire and String Puzzles where the aim usually is to seperate a certain piece from the rest of the puzzle or to move a piece to a certain position.

Brainteaser
Left Brainteaser or A Prime [flea market, 1 €, fall 2007 ]
I'm sure there are lots of names for this wooden/rope stump puzzle, the above are those I found for it on the internet. I bought this at a flea market without the ring (it's supposed to be a brass ring) but found a wooden ring for it later on. The aim is to free the ring.

Verrückter Ring
Verrückter Ring (in English: Crazy Ring) by Philos [flea market, 0,30 €, May 2008 ]
Another puzzle where the ring is to be seperated from the stump.

Triple Triangle
Triple Triangle or Three Triangles [present]
The Wild Triangle
These are a rope puzzles. The triangles have to be freed from the ropes.

Rope Puzzles
Schlaufenpuzzle by Philos [flea market, 1 €, summer 2007]
Devil's Board, in German: Teufelsbrett by Bartl
Cesar's Cubes ,in German: Die Würfel von Cäsar by Bartl
More rope puzzles that can be found under various names. The balls or the outer cubes are to be moved to one side.

Igelkäfig
Igelkäfig [Prague vacation, september 2003]
I haven't found an English name for this free-the-trapped-object puzzle, the literal translation would be hedgehog cage. The aim is to free the spiked ball.

Lyons Loop
Lyons Loop, part of the Tavern Puzzle Collection by Tucker Jones [present, 2003]
It was named after a famous 19th century blacksmith, Patrick Lyon. The object is to remove the ring.

Devil's Loop
Devil's Loop, Tangleweed or WirrWarr [present, March 2008]
The description is in Czech, the name Devil's Loop is a literal translation by me. Tangleweed by Pentangle looks a little bit different but is essentially the same. I have found the name WirrWarr on the homepage of the Puzzle-Museum.
The aim is to remove the string.

Hard Wire
These kind of Hard Wire Puzzles are called Vexieres. Metal wires, which have been intertwined, are to be seperated. My small collection includes:
Offset Triangles
Ring with Triangle
Double Clips
Double Rings with Straight Handles
Double Twists with Curved Handles
Double Rings with Bent Handles
Double Twists with U Handles
